Micura Services Limited has reinforced its commitment to employee wellbeing, workplace safety and operational efficiency through a two-day Optimizing Workforce Health and Safety Workshop held at its Head Office in Apapa, Lagos, on Wednesday, 7 October, and Thursday, 8 October 2026.
The workshop was organised in collaboration with the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Apapa Area Office, as part of efforts to strengthen workplace health and safety awareness and equip employees with practical knowledge for maintaining a safer and healthier working environment.
Workplace health and safety remain essential to employee wellbeing, operational effectiveness and sustained productivity. For an organisation operating within Nigeria’s maritime and logistics sector, maintaining a strong safety culture is particularly important, given the operational demands and potential risks associated with its activities.
The two-day workshop, titled Optimizing Workforce Health and Safety for Improved Productivity, focused on equipping participants with the knowledge and skills to identify common workplace health and safety challenges, understand appropriate emergency and incident response techniques, and adopt healthier practices that support productivity.
The training also highlighted the relationship between employee health, safety, wellbeing and overall workplace performance. The workshop covered important areas of workplace health and safety, with learning objectives designed to help participants apply the knowledge gained to their respective roles. Participants were equipped to:
- Identify common workplace health and safety challenges and understand their potential impact on employees and organisational productivity.
- Discuss emergency and incident response techniques, reinforcing the importance of appropriate responses when workplace incidents occur.
- Apply lifestyle modifications that support health, safety and productivity, recognising the role of personal wellbeing in maintaining effective workplace performance.
The training methodology included lectures, discussions, demonstrations, role-play exercises, simulations and case studies, providing opportunities for participants to engage with the subject matter and explore practical approaches to workplace safety.
The successful completion of the workshop reflects Micura Services Limited’s continued commitment to developing its workforce and promoting responsible workplace practices. Beyond understanding safety procedures, effective workplace safety requires awareness, individual responsibility and the consistent application of appropriate practices.
Equipping employees with relevant knowledge is an important step towards strengthening these values across the organisation. By investing in workforce development and safety awareness, Micura continues to support an environment where employee wellbeing, operational responsibility and productivity remain important priorities.
Micura Services Limited recognises that a productive workforce depends not only on operational resources and processes but also on the health, safety and wellbeing of its people. The company appreciates the collaboration with the Industrial Training Fund, Apapa Area Office, in delivering the workshop and contributing to employee development.
As Micura continues to strengthen its operations and service delivery, the knowledge gained from the training will serve as a valuable resource in promoting greater workplace awareness and reinforcing the importance of safe working practices. At Micura Services Limited, workplace safety is a shared responsibility, and employee wellbeing remains an important part of building a stronger, more productive organisation.
