The 2025 Maritime Cup semi-final match between Micura Services Limited and NPA on Monday, November 24th, was one filled with intensity, determination, and high hopes. Unfortunately, Micura suffered a 0–3 defeat, bringing an emotional end to our journey toward lifting the Maritime Cup trophy this year.

Despite what the final scoreline suggests, Micura entered the game with confidence and purpose. Our players showed strong teamwork and resilience in the first half, creating multiple goal-scoring opportunities that had fans on their feet. From close runs to quick offensive breaks, Micura looked poised to take the lead. Also, shout out to our MD, who played his first game yesterday, in this year’s maritime cup competition.

For long stretches of the match, the game felt balanced, almost destined for a tight finish or even extra time. But football is unpredictable. In the closing minutes of the second half, NPA capitalized on three chances in quick succession, scoring late goals that ultimately sealed their win and secured their place in the final against Customs.

The defeat was undeniably difficult for the entire Micura family… players, coaching crew, management, and supporters. Our goal this year was clear – to bring home the Maritime Cup, something last achieved in 2010, fifteen years ago. The passion and hunger were evident, but luck simply wasn’t on our side this time. Still, our journey isn’t over.

Micura now prepares for the third-place playoff against Comet on Wednesday, 26 November 2025, at The Stable, Bode Thomas, Surulere, by 1:00 PM. This match is more than a consolation; it is an opportunity to finish the tournament strong, redeem our momentum, and bring home a top-three finish in the 2025 Maritime Cup.

Our players remain motivated, and the spirit among supporters is unwavering. We believe in our team, in their resilience, their dedication, and their ability to bounce back.

While the dream of winning the Maritime Cup this year has slipped away, Micura’s ambition remains intact. The experience has only strengthened our resolve, and we are hopeful for greater success in future editions of the competition. For now, our focus is clear, which is to finish strong, fight hard and take third place.

We call on all Micura fans to show up, cheer loudly, and support our boys as they take on Comet in what promises to be a thrilling match. See you at The Stable on Wednesday. Up Micura!
